Black Girl Ventures (BGV) funds early-stage, revenue-generating businesses with under $1 million in revenue. We ignite civic engagement and strengthen local infrastructure across the U.S. by offering business support services, leadership development, supplier diversity, and both social and financial capital. While we typically support ventures from any industry, specific funding partnerships may require us to focus on certain sectors.
Our founders raise twice the national average in funding, grow their social capital tenfold, and 51% go on to join accelerators and incubators to further develop their ventures. BGV has impacted over 20,000 people across 64 countries. Our founders collectively represent over $10 million in revenue and have created more than 3,000 jobs for the U.S. economy.
Welcome to the BGV STEMGirl Grant Application! This is an exclusive opportunity for BGV Alumni to secure $5,000 in grant funding to propel their STEM-focused businesses forward11.
The BGV STEMGirl Grant is awarded to 8 small business owners whose product or service creates unique opportunities in STEM-related fields. This $5k grant can be utilized to support:
- Product development
- General operating expenses
- Marketing outreach
At BGV, one of our key programmatic objectives is to Access Capital by providing funding to our entrepreneurs. This grant initiative also seeks to deepen affinity with STEM Founders across BGV’s network.
Eligibility Criteria: Who Should Apply?
To be considered for the BGV STEMGirl Grant, applicants must strictly meet the following requirements:
- Must be a BGV Alumni or a part of the BGV Community.
- Must own at least 51% of the business you are applying with.
- Must have a product/service that creates unique opportunities in STEM-related fields.
- Business must be generating between $1 and $1 Million in revenue.
- Must be 18 years or older.
